#79: Las Acacias (2011)

“The 2012 Movie challenge . To watch at least 150 movies during this year.”
Movie #79 – 23 April 2012
Las Acacias (Argentina – 2011) Directed by Pablo Giorgelli

Presented at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, Las Acacias is an extraordinary example of a pure and simple movie that manages to tell a story of a long journey by truck of two strangers without being boring. It even manages to convey poetry just through a handful of images: a yawn and a baby sneeze. Las Acacias is a little jewel, a tender film, intimate and precious. A movie of few words and strong emotions, full of gestures, glances, expressions developed in the cockpit of a truck. It grows and engages the viewer slowly slowly with each passing minute. A must see!
